Sales figures and market shares

In 2010, WIV recorded annual sales worth € 458,1 million. This makes the company the largest wine-marketing company in Germany (source: Weinwirtschaft 5/11). 41 percent of sales were achieved in Germany and 59 percent abroad. The most important markets after Germany are France, the United Kingdom, Japan and Italy.

Sales revenues are divided into Direct Sales, with 60 percent, Wholesale Trade (supplying restaurants, wine specialist stores, food retailers), with 19 percent, Service (including trade fair construction, logistics and IT) with 16 percent, Retail with 2 percent and New Business with 3 percent.. Europe accounts for 76 percent of sales, the USA for 4 percent and Asia and overseas for 20 percent.
